Who We Are

“It’s more common than you realise to reach out to talk about recent or long term persistent issues that you need assistance with. I’m here to listen and to work with you for long-lasting change.”

~ Michael Dalton, Owner/Counsellor & Psychotherapist

Meet Owner, Psychotherapist and Counsellor, Michael Dalton

My name is Mick and I’m the founder of Power Flow Mind and Body. I was fortunate enough some 15 years ago to be introduced to Gestalt Psychotherapy and truly believe in Counselling and Gestalt Therapy as a deeply effective means to supporting clients. To name a few roles in life, I’m also a Dad, husband, son, step-son, brother and step-brother. It’s fair to say that I have experienced the highs and lows of life in family, relationships, friendships, business, loss, grief, addiction, self-loathing and feeling anxious, depressed, happy and sad. I truly believe that in addition to my extensive professional training, my personal life experiences assist me to relate with great understanding to my clients.

Your path to a more joyful life

One on one deep Gestalt psychotherapy looks at the relationships in your life and a wide range of issues – these could include feeling anxious; feeling fearful, or facing addiction. Sadness, grief, loss, love, confusion, professional, business and financial complexities are common issues that my clients present with.

My intention is that the time we spend together supports you now and allows you to make structural and long-lasting changes or tweaks in your life or relationships. Ultimately our aim is to help you live a less conflicted and more joyful, connected life. I’m truly excited by the possibilities that will arise from our work together.

Supporting you in your relationships

I have a deep love for supporting relationships and couples through individual and couples therapy. I can assist you in improving communication to enhance love, connection and sexual expression. We all also know not all relationships are destined to be lifelong, so if it has to end, we can work on the relationship ending together.

Creating long-lasting, impactful change

I’m not interested in superficial change. I want to hear and support the issues that you are coming to see me about. I recognise that sometimes these can feel painful or embarrassing for people and yet, with our combined commitment, the work that we do can lead to lasting change, but you have to start today and you have to do the work.

It’s time to take the first step

You don’t need to even know why you are coming to see me to be honest. If there is an inclination that it would be helpful to talk with me, then you are probably right. Book an appointment today and great things will come from that first step.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you.

Warm regards,

Michael Dalton

Psychotherapist and Counsellor

Three words come to mind when reflecting on my time working with Michael. Connected, caring and challenging. He’s helped me connect with my body and become aware of feelings and default behaviours. I’ve always felt he cares, showing compassion and support with the things I share. And finally, he challenges me in a respectful and positive way. Playing back my, sometimes messy, thoughts in a way that enables me to find clarity and insight. I’m very grateful for the lessons and insights he’s helped me uncover. He has helped me better understand myself and improved the way I connect with my feelings, thoughts and the people close to me.
